Obituary

Wyonell Rollins Smith, 83, of Black Mountain, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Wyonell was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend whose gentle spirit and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearlie Mae and William Rollins; her beloved husband, Howard Smith; sisters Annie Mae and Rosa Mae; and brothers William and Everett.

She is survived by her sisters Peggy, Edith, and Genevie; her brothers JL and Gary, and her children, Dwayne Smith (Mary), Wanda Blankenship, Tim Smith (Misty), and Teresa Decerbo. She also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the joy of her life.

Wyonell will be remembered for her faith, kindness, and devotion to her family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 5, 2025, 10:00 to 11:00am at Burgin’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 11:00am at the church. The burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
