Evelyn Marie Lollis, 85, of Black Mountain, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Evelyn was born on October 10, 1939, in Buncombe County to the late Coleman and Bertha Norton. She previously worked at Kearfott and Mission Hospital; and she was a member of East Black Mountain Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the love of her life, Gary C. Lollis; and sister, Pansy Norton Putnam.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Alice Barnes of Candler; son, Coleman Ammons with whom she made her home in Black Mountain, and Randy Bartlett (Theresa) of Black Mountain who she came to love as if they were her own; one granddaughter, Denise Burnette; one great granddaughter, Jobi Hill; and special friends, the Juarez family who she was Mamma Evie and Darling too.

She had a very special bond with Hector and Stephanie Estrada and loved their children, Monica, Melissa, and Emanuel, very much. They were her grandchildren as well. She also had a very special love for Tammy Allen and her husband, Joe Spino, whose relationship held a very special place in her heart. She loved hearing her boyfriend’s voice, William Whitaker, on the phone. Her special treat was with Pastor Allen Rash with each visit she grew to love and appreciate him more every time.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00pm at Harwood Home for Funerals. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 2:00pm with Rev. Allen Rash and Rev. Jacob Nester officiating. The burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
