Obituary

William “Bill” Lawson Garrison, 85, of Black Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Bill was born on July 17, 1939, in Buncombe County to the late Ernest and Beulah Garrison. Bill served in the US Air Force from 1957 – 1961, retired from Kearfott after 40 years, and he enjoyed farming and gardening. He was a member of Wilkey Baptist Church and attended Clear Branch Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara “Bobbie” Garrison; sisters, Hattie Louise Garrison and Martha Ann Reagan; and brothers, George M. Garrison and Ned H. Garrison.

Those left to cherish his memories are his sisters, Earline Owenby and Rowena Rodgers; brother, Thad Garrison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at 3:00pm at the funeral home with Rev. Anthony Rodriguez officiating. The burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
